"A Romance With Indonesian Cooking: What Dr Liem Ate at Home", is a cookbook dedicated to my late Father and his recipes. The book is a collaborative project between my Mother, Irene Liem, who wrote the story and compiled the recipes,
and myself who was responsible |
for the entire layout, cover design, food photography and illustrations.
The book comes in two parts, the first detailing our family history and my Father’s journey from his humble beginnings in Indonesia, through to communist |
China during the Cultural Revolution, and finally to starting a new life in Australia. The second part explores the much-loved recipes he cooked in order to provide in times of hardship and to express his love for his family and friends. |
